The Best Winter Coats

Hola! I love coats. I feel like they complete a look, and can completely change the out come of your look. I live in Canada, so having coats that are cute are a staple for the winter and the transition from winter to spring. So, I have rounded up my favourites I have found on the web.
  1. This navy blue trench coat from ASOS is a great staple to have if you want a more professional look to an outfit, while keeping everything warm, including your booty!
  2. This shearling jacket from Acne is so in style right now. It will also keep you nice and toasty due to the Shearling it is made out of.
  3. This blazer jacket from Topshop is work chic, and is so cute when worn a couple sizes to big. And is perfect for those warmer winter days.
  4. This classic trench coat from Nelly is a dream. It is thick, to keep you warm. But, it will keep your outfit looking stylish and chic.
  5. Another jacket from Nelly would be perfect for the warmer days that are coming. With the blue stripes and robe like look it is super on trend.
  6. The last one is from Gucci. This jacket is beautiful, its my DREAM. It’s warm, stylish, with beautiful colours.
What style of coat is your go to?

Hola!! Today, I woke up and something was different. There was no weight on my shoulders weighing me down. I didn’t feel the worry of what I was going to wear, eat and prepare for lunch. I simply woke up and just moved with the rhythm of my body. I didn’t eat breakfast, I forgot. I usually would beat myself up over something like that. But, today I didn’t, cause people forget sometimes, and thats okay. People mess up, they are human. Obviously breakfast wasn’t important to me in that moment. This is getting deep. haha. All because I didn’t eat breakfast.

Well, on a more light hearted note. Today, whilst I was so relaxed, I wore black skinnies, Suede black booties from ASOS and an oversized shirt from Doe & Rae

See yah!

First Day Back

Hola my friends! My bubble has burst, Christmas break is over and it’s back to school for me. I have enjoyed my time away from all the stress of finals coming up, but I am now panicking over the fact that I somehow forgot everything from this semester over the 2 weeks I had off. Great.

These past 2 weeks have really changed my way of looking at life. I honestly don’t know why, but they have. I have struggled with anxiety based around school most of my life. And I will for the rest of my school career, and probably into my working career as well. But, over these past 2 weeks of being home alone, stress free, I have had time to think about why I feel it most with school.
I realized that I let anxiety take all the control of me. I never tried to stop it, I always thought that if I just ignored it, maybe it would stop. But you can’t ignore anxiety. It is an emotion that demands attention, and will stop at nothing until it has your attention. I realized I let so many opportunities run past me because I never took charge. I just submitted to the anxiety and let it control me.
With the ending of this semester and the beginning of the next soon, I am going to work on controling anxiety, instead of letting anxiety control me. Will it work the first time I try? Probably not, or the second and more than likely not the third. But it will eventually, and thats what matter to me at the moment. At least I am going to try.
“Fall down seven times, get up 8.”

P.S. this got a little more deep then i thought it would when i sat down to write it. sorry.

Trend of The Week

Aviator jackets are my current obsession! They look effortlessly chic and instantly make an outfit look like a model off-duty. With so many different colours available, you can look girly with pink, more edgy with the red shearling against the black outering, or go more classic with solid neutrals like black, white and beige. Some of my favourites are found on ASOS!

This Weeks Thoughts & Favourites

Hola my friends! I can’t believe the first week of 2018 is already over. How is a year already going by fast when it just started? This was my last week of Christmas break from school, so back to real life on Monday I guess. I don’t want to go. Anyways, here are some favourites and moments from this fine first week of 2018:
  • The thought of the week:  That wanting to be alone is okay. After spending so much time around people during the holidays I started to feel guilt when I didn’t want to go to another family gathering. But, I realized that was my brains way of telling me, ‘Hey, slow down, take some me time’. And I did, and all of a sudden it was me who was wanting to go visit some family. Me time is important and self care is important.
  • Craving of the week:  Quinoa salad… I know, its kinda random. I don’t know if it’s because after all the heavy, big meals over the holidays, but I can’t get enough of a big bowl of quinoa, chickpeas, black beans, corn and lemon and oil salad.
  • Favourite series:   A Netflix original series called ‘Rotten’. It talks about the behind the scenes things that go on in the food industry and all the things that big companies and the food industry don’t want you to know.
  • Favourite moment:  My sister came home yesterday and we all went out for supper, and had a really great time. There was lots of jokes, laughing and just good old family time.
  • Favourite song:  ‘This is Me’ from The Greatest Showman soundtrack. Actually, the whole damn soundtrack is my favourite and on repeat at the moment.
  • Want of the week:  I recently tried out a moisturizer from OleHenriksen… I am running out and it’s my new holy grail skin care item!
  • Quote of the week:  “Don’t let yesterday take up to much of today” – Will Rogers
What are some of your favourites??

Photoshoots, and Do Nothing Days

Hola! How’s everyones day been? I have spent the day doing absolutely nothing, and it’s nice! I made myself some pancakes this morning with some cooked berries on top. I had a cup of coffee and some orange juice as well.
After, I got dressed and a mini photo shoot happened…
I like to think I’m a professional…

I think I’m going to have a little pamper night, and the call it quits for the day. See yah soon!

Travel 2018

Traveling makes me happy. I don’t know what it is about traveling but I have not found anything that is quite like it. So, this year I want to travel like never before, there are so many places to see in the world! This is my travel list for 2018.
Oslo, Norway

Oslo is the capital of Norway and god damn it is beautiful. Norway was voted the happiest place to live in 2017, there is something in the Nordic water I swear. History shows that places up north like Sweden, Finland, and Denmark along with Norway are always in the top 10, without fail, every year. But besides it being such a happy place to be, Norwegians are damn proud of their ancestors. Vikings. Yep, they have viking museums, and are so rich in history, but have somehow managed to stay modern. I would love to visit Oslo in the summer, and other, more northern places in Norway in the winter. I’m Canadian, I like snow and lots of it please!!
Amsterdam, Netherlands
I love Amsterdam. I’ve been once before and I fell in love the moment I got there. I don’t know what it is about it, it just makes me happy. You can walk for hours upon hours and still find something cool and interesting to do. Don’t walk through the red light district though. I drove through it… got and eye full. But, because bicycles are so common, they rule the roads. More then cars and pedestrians walking, so watch out. I actually watched someone run in to a cyclist… let’s just say it didn’t happen again. Amsterdam truely has my heart.
 Krakow, Poland
I never thought I would like to go to Poland before, but after seeing photos, it’s a must see this year. Not only are the views in the streets phenomenal, they are rich in history, something that my home town lacks. I am a history nerd, especially for the Second World War, so once I found out that Krakow was home to the Auschwitz Concentration Camp, I was set on visiting. What happened there was truly devastating, but there is so much to learn from it, and it seems as though we haven’t at all sometimes. Krakow, I’m coming for you.
Paris, France
Ah, yes the city of love. Not only would I love to view the Eiffel Tower, L’Arc de Triomphe, or the hustle and bustle around the city, but view the history that is woven into the everyday life of Parisians. Like I said… I’m a hoe for history. I would love to go to the Palace of Versailles and view not only the beauty of the Palace, but the beauty of the garden in full bloom. The light air that floats through the city, or the cobblestone streets. Also wouldn’t mind if I found a Parisian man either.

Madrid, Spain
I have always loved the idea of Spain not only is it beautiful, with a city atmosphere that you can explore, but it also gets hot there. I love the heat. Love it. And Madrid gets to be almost 30C in August with an only 7% average for rain the entire month. Tan lines here I come!!
Sicily, Italy
I have heard so much about Italy in general, but when ever I hear ‘Italy’ I think Sicily.  With it’s tropical looks, mixed with the rich European history… it’s my dream. Being able to walk down the allies and streets, take photos of the cool buildings. The sun shinning, licking at my skin. Damn it, I need sun!!!!

Los Angeles, California

I know, I know… LA, really? Well, I’ve been once before and I loved it. I love big cities, no one cares about what you look like. Everyone is too wrapped up in their own heads that they don’t pay attention to you, unlike in my home town where if you wear something out side of flannels and t-shirts you get stared at like you have a light up arrow pointing towards yourself. Not to mention it’s warm… like really warm.

St. Tropez, France

St. Tropez is the name of a self tanner for a reason… You get tanned when you go to St. Tropez, imagine that! Haha. Although I would love to just sit and relax, which is totally my style of vacation, you can also explore while in St. Tropez, it’s the best of both! Not to mention you can get some amazing photos here to!!

Budapest, Hungary

Who da best? Budapest! Haha, sorry I had to. (it’s currently 3am shhhhh). Budapest is stunning, and it has so much to do! This is definitely the adventurous part of me screaming out, as this isn’t somewhere I want to go for the sun. But for the experiences. I mean come on, look at that photo, it’s gorgeous!
Bali, Indonesia

Last, but not least…Bali. I feel like Bali would be the cherry on top to complete a year. Look at me already thinking about ringing in another year. But, I truly feel that Bali would be the perfect escape from reality, after all the Christmas hustle and bustle take a break and just relax. Take a scooter to get some food, then come back to a beautiful villa. AHHH someone take me here PLEASE!!

Where do you want to travel this year?

Happy New Year!

WAIT!? It’s 2018 already!? It feels like 2017 just started like, last month. I had to give myself a talking to last night, I need to get my life together…ASAP!!!

But, instead of organizing my life, I spent New Years with my family, I’m not big on parties, they just aren’t my scene. So instead of getting drunk, and dealing with a hangover the next day, I stuffed my face with food, slept like a baby and was good to-go the next morning. Run anyone?

Because I spent New Years with my family there were no fancy dresses, fancy decor, or camera worthy moments. Although I did eat some amazing sushi with avocado instead of fish. I also had some seaweed salad and a mint, beet and pineapple water. It was so good I forgot to take a photo!

My family is lame and everyone left by 9:00pm, so I put on some pj’s, a face mask, and pampered myself through to 2018.  Left 2017 practicing self-care, began 2018 practicing self-care. Well, i’m going to go play in the snow now, have a great page 1 to 2018!

How did you spend New Years?

Find Your Balance

While on a road trip recently I picked up a few magazines to read. No, these aren’t gossip magazines that spread unnecessary drama (although according to People, Kim and Kanye are getting divorced…again). They are a magazine called RealSimple, I got two and my life has changed.

The two issues I got were titled ‘More Calm, Less Clutter‘ and ‘Find Your Balance‘. The first has a bunch of different hacks and tips that will help you with keeping the little things that add up more in order. Like putting washi tape on everyones chargers so its easier to decipher whose is whose, or keeping a dish in your laundry room/space that you can put loose change and other smaller trinkets in that you find in pockets while you are doing laundry.

The second one is right up my street. It talks about the different ways you can change your life in order to relax in the stressful world we live in today. It also explains the science behind a lot of the things they talk about. Like how having long term stress, causing our ‘fight or flight’ mode to kick into gear constantly means that cortisol is released from your brain constantly causing weight gain in your stomach, and weakens our immune systems when exposed to it over a long period of time. It also helps with everyday things, like learning how to not stress over things like a baby crying, or get frustrated at a guy who just cut you off. It teaches and gives tips on how you can not let that control your entire day.

There is a lot I learned from reading these magazines. Simple changes in habits I do everyday that will have an impact on how I view both the world, and myself.

What annoyed you today? Was it silly looking back on it?

New Year, New Me?

Where has 2017 gone? I swear it was just the beginning of the year 2 weeks ago. The older I get, the faster the years seem to go by. But, with a new year, comes new year resolutions for most people. I usually am one of those people, this year I was supposed to star working out, travel a ton, maybe do a few spontaneous things along the way and work on my anxiety. Well… I went to the gym once for like 30 min, traveled to 2 places and due to my anxiety, didn’t leave my house unless it was a need to moment. Thinking back on this it leaves a weird feeling in my stomach and makes my brain feel oddly detached from my body.

This whole ‘new year, new me’ trend that happens around this time of year always leaves me feeling less accomplished then I had before by the end of said year. So, this year there are no new years resolutions.

2018 starts on a Monday. And most would hate that, who likes Mondays? Especially when most will probably have hangovers for the next week anyways. Well, my friends I feel like this is the perfect time the year to start, not only is it at new year, its a new week and I feel like when the beginning of my week starts good, my week tends to go by much smoother. So, why not have that for the year as well?

I’m not going to be giving myself unrealistic goals, I simply want to enjoy this year, wether thats me sitting in front of the T.V. watching Netflix for the day, working out, eating crap or eating healthy, traveling when I feel like traveling, making to-do lists or just say f*** it and sit on the couch all day, well then thats what I’m gonna do. No pressure needed.

Do you like making new years resolutions?
